Social Media Marketing Experts in Minneapolis

Beware the Lies

When a business talks to us about hiring a social media marketing agency in Minneapolis, we cringe just a little bit. Why? It’s not because social media marketing is a bad idea. It’s just because we get a little bit nervous. There are a lot of people out there who claim to understand social media – many of these people do not even grasp the basics. Before you hire any agency (even if it’s not ours) read on.

Social Algorithms

If your social media marketing company (or the one you’re considering) doesn’t have a firm understanding of the key social media algorithms (on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest) then they’re not even making an effort to win. This is the first key to sucess on social.

Consistent Growth

Not every post is a like-gaining machine. Some will slip by with very little success – that’s just how social works. The key is to see a pattern of growth, not a reputation for stagnancy. If it’s been months since you’ve seen an uptick in followers or engagement, it may be time to switch things up.

Platform Flexibility

What good is a huge audience on Facebook or Instagram? For businesses, the answer depends on where that audience goes from there. Social media agencies should be able to go after more than just post likes – they should be directing people to anywhere else that your company may be.

We’re Consistently Learning and Growing

Social media is never done changing. User behaviors change constantly, and the social media algorithms that govern content visibility are changing just as often. Our response is to be flexible. When we work with clients, we don’t stay committed to outdated strategies. Instead, we research and develop strategies that work and implement them – we’ll do whatever it takes to get the best results.

The Essentials of Social Media Marketing

The Goals We’re Striving to Achieve for Each and Every Client

What’s the Point?

Sometimes, marketers get tricked into thinking that effective social media marketing is done with a bullhorn – they think that the idea is to shout loud enough about your product/brand so that someone takes notice.

However, that’s the least effective kind of social media marketing that could ever exist. On large social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, algorithms clearly state that they are pre-disposed to “hide” content that is overtly promotional.

What does that mean? Since so much content is constantly being shared on social media, users only have the time to see about 1in every 10 or 15 posts that they could be seeing at any given time. Since sites like Facebook and Instagram want to assure that the “best” content is always being seen, they use algorithms to prioritize the stuff that seems to be most interesting.

For this reason, a user on Facebook is almost sure to see the post that announces their friend’s engagement – even if they don’t log on until a couple of days later.

On the other hand, that same user is extremely unlikely to see an overtly promotional post from a brand because that’s typically not interesting enough to appear within the top 10% (or less) of all the available content that a user could see. Our response to that is to create content that users perceive as genuinely valuable so that they are driven towards further action.

Is Social Media for Everyone?

We’re constantly hearing about businesses that think their industry is too boring or too niche-oriented for social media.

While it’s definitely true that many businesses are only relevant to so many people, it’s wrong to assume that this means they don’t belong on social media.

If your business can operate with the audience that you have, then your potential audience is large enough that a social media presence could benefit you.

As part of what we do, we’ll help you to find the right kind of audience to target on social media so that we can create content that’s tailor-made for them.

Whether you have 100 fans or 1 million, we’ll ensure that they’re engaged in what you’re doing so that the things we share benefit both your company and your customers as well.

By doing that, we’ll be starting the process of turning ‘fans’ into customers that are brand-loyal and ready to support you and your company.
